Lehigh Valley Catz Win Season Opener, 5 - 3

Our other baseball team, the Lehigh Valley Catz, has just won its season opener under a sweltering sun against the Hampton Whalers, 5 -3. The game was played before a small crowd at Lafayette's Metzgar fields. The Whalers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, and the Catz were actually hitless until the 5th inning. They exploded in the sixth, producing four of their five runs.

The Catz are part of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, a summer wooden bat league supported and sanctioned by Major League Baseball and the NCAA. Twenty-two of its players have gone on to play professionally over the last eight years.

Game two of this double-header starts at 4 PM. If you can't come out to Metzgar fields, you can still listen to a live play by play here.

Evening Update: It's two in a row! The Catz also won their second game against the Whalers, 4-3.

Did you lose your law license because you were signing Judge's names to court documents ?

No. I have repeatedly explained the circumstances under which I lost my license. I see the hate squad is busy with its usual and tireseome ad hominems. Better get some new material.

Geez! The loss of your law license is soooo umpteen years ago.

These has beens, I mean never were, should find something more constructive to do with their time.

Anon 1150, that was blunt! Too bad, as Bernie said, been covered already, and often.

Move on to something productive.

Hey Bernie!

Didn't know we had ACBL BASEBALL in common...

I was at the Catz games at St. John's University on Sunday. You see, now that my son has graduated from Liberty HS we've decided to move back to NYC.

The family decided that PA is going to have to get much worse before it gets better, so we'll take our chances in the city so nice they named it twice.

Please come to the ACBL All-Star game in July. You are my guest at the greatest Italian restaurant on the planet. In Queens, NY.

Your pal,
