John Kingsley Moving on Up to the LVEDC

At last night's meeting of Northampton County Council, affable Phil Mitman was scheduled to make a presentation concerning a new "Climate of Collaboration" at Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation. In Northampton County, that's a tough pitch to sell, and I'll have more about that later.

Before the meeting had even started, I noticed a few strange things. Northampton County Authorities Administrator John Kingsley was standing in the hallway in his street clothing, and was excitedly talking to LVEDC bigwigs who had dropped by. Then, during Mitman's presentation, he let something slip about adding someone new to his team.

Oopsie.

After the meeting, a reliable source confirmed that John Kingsley is that new team member. His new job title? I have no idea.

John and I were on opposite sides of the bond wars. During that time, I developed deep admiration and respect for him. He was always accessible and never held back an ounce of information. He endured a lot of turmoil within his department but remained a consummate professional.

Those bastards at LVEDC will ruin him. Congrats, John!
