Bethelehem Controller Race: Holland Getting Democratic Support

As The Morning Call notes, Democrat Dave DiGiacinto has collected three times as much money as his Republican opponent, Meg Holland. But what I find most interesting about the money battle in that race is the Democratic support that Holland has garnered.

Bethlehem Attorney Ed Redding, a behind the scenes playa, has risked excommunication by Bossman Joe Long and kicked in $500. Attorney Phil Hof has also contributed to Holland's campaign.

Holland's private practice includes expert testimony in legal matters which could result in the establishment of professional relationships with many attorneys. And her father , Bob Holland, was a well thought of attorney in Bethlehem.

So it may not be as easy to know the motivation of donors.

Maureen Holland Schaeffer ---
Dave DiGiacinto sent all of his mailers to residents of the City of Bethlehem, Bethlehem Township, Hanover Township and even some to Forks Township! Do we want a Controller who wastes probably $10,000 sending mailers to people who cannot even vote in a City of Bethlehem election? I think this is bad oversight on his part.

P.S. My grandfather (Bob Holland)was President of the Northampton County Bar Association... and my mom and I work daily with attorneys on litigation, forensic accounting, and business valuation cases...

This appears to be yet another of the Two warring camps in Bethlehem picking their candidates regardless of party. Bethlehems own version of the war of the roses.
