Lamont McLure Deserves No Seat on Norco Council

I've written about Lamont McClure, aka McMud, so many times I could probably devote an entire blog to his nefarious antics. He's earned the unflattering nickname.

One thing he hasn't earned is a seat on Northampton County Council. He's lost whenever he's run. He'll win on Tuesday, but his sleaze campaign against Will Power has probably guaranteed that Dems will lose control of county council in the general election.

I've already told you what I think. Here are some other voices in the blogosphere.

NewsOverCoffee, a Nazareth blog in McMud's district: "Campaigns almost always devolve into one candidate knocking another one down to boost one's self in the process and it makes no constructive contribution to our knowledge of these individuals or their ability to perform. Pointing out convictions of crimes would be fine, but accusations that were not upheld is not right and speaks volumes of the individual presenting the material."

Lehigh Valley Poliblog: "Using a candidate's dead relative in an attack mailing against him, twisting the facts and words of someone who is no longer alive and can't set the record straight, is the lowest form of gutter politics I have ever witnessed, and i've personally seen some nasty crap."

Blue Coyote a relative newcomer to Blogistan, says it best of all: "I am reminded of a quote from Marcus Aurelius - 'A noble man compares and estimates himself by an idea which is higher than himself; and a mean man, by one lower than himself. The one produces aspiration; the other ambition, which is the way in which a vulgar man aspires.' "

I'm not really sure who's doing McMud's mail. I'll try to find out. But I know this strategy was decided upon by the candidate himself, not some consultant.

Remember Jack Nicholson in "One flew over the Cuckoo's nest?"
That's the seat Lamont truly deserves!

I'm thinking there's a work at home opportunity here. I'm starting my own company, as soon as I'm no longer a candidate.
I'm going to call it Precision attack mailings!
I'll ask if I can use bulk mail permit 172 to save a few bucks. Then I'll take the truth and twist it so perversely folks will never figure it out!
Hell, I'll make it affordable for everybody, anybody can do an attack mailing! Got an annoying neighbor? I'll slam them so hard they'll have to move! Some nosy blogger airing your illegal and unethical activities? I'll give you the O'Hare special! LOL!

Bernie,

Thank you again for being a watchdog on this matter and for and about NorCo government in general. You provide a service and I have learned much from you this year.

An old insight taught to me from a man who was a Mayor at the time some 20 years ago went something like this: "What McMud says about Will says more about McMud than it does about Will". In this race, that wisdom would help any reader of Lamont's garbage find out who he is and who they should vote for. Win or lose, I will be okay with that, as I wake up with my head held high. And I'm a tough guy who has will power, so if I don't win this one, I'll be back to go against Sam Bennett next year and Diane Neiper and Charles Dertinger the following year just to make it harder for the named above and Joe Long.

The harder they push, the more I'll stand up against them... and that's the bottom line.

PS: Please know that I'm not looking for your nor anyone else's endorsement of that mission, for it comes from my heart, and it is true. I really don't care if no one else understands. I just can't stand around and shrug my shoulders and look the other way when our county is going down the drain.

Will,

There's an interesting theory about why McMus really went to the dark side. It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with your sister. I'll post that later.

Bohare!
There's been quite a bit of back channel chatter that this was a shot across Senator Boscola's bow, warning her off challenging Sam Bennett by Northampton county allies! They won't attack Lisa directly, but Will is open season.
I don't hide in the cover of night, when it comes to my agenda I make my stands in the open. This gamesmanship, if true, is insanity. An open primary is good for all candidates. If they are afraid of Lisa, Charlie Dent will have them peeing themselves.
Congressional races aren't tea parties, they are mortal Combat.
2008 is going to bloody, and the meek and stupid need not apply!
Shawn Millan took it easy on Dertinger, and these people are pretending it will be that way again. I guarantee you that the R's will launch nuclear missiles if they think that is what it would take to hold Dent's seat.
Shawn Millaan will pop their eyes out and skull bleep'em, as we used to say!

Well, Chris, some of that has been sent my way as well. I was going to wait to post it, but I guess I'll let her rip now.
